Nyell has enjoyed learning about and making art for most of her life. After several years of focusing most of her time on her career and family, she is enjoying having more time to focus on her creative side, and encouraging her children – also both artists – to do so as well. She loves to draw the human figure using charcoal, colored pencil and conte crayon, and also loves creating leaf sculptures using a mixture of cement and organic materials.
Nyell has donated sculptural installations to both the Women’s Services department and Baker Garden at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, Oregon. Her artwork has contributed to enhancing the patient experience by promoting a more peaceful and healing environment.
